WE LOVE FINE WEDNESDAY will tear you a-pod… again!
So all this week we are selling “Pod Division,” Reece Ward’s limited edition Star Wars design that is available ONLY through this Sunday… right? Well, one of you lucky people is going to win one in that time, too! Reblog this before Monday to win your choice of the men’s or women’s version of the tee!
Reblog and WIN, and may The Force be with you!

So here it is; the last post I will make on Tumblr. Not because it’s bad, not because I got bored, just…when I feel the need to blog, it will be on my new site; www.alexgabbott.com.
The last post I was going to do on this ‘song a day’ blog was always going to be this song;
The Beatles - Golden Slumbers Medley
As one of the Beatles last songs, it perfectly compresses the length and breadth of their musical output in a mere 5 minutes. In many ways, this is the perfect way to say goodbye, and to break up the band. There is the gentle piano and strings, blending into the classic rock and roll drums. This song emits a feeling of triumphant melancholy. The final segment - ‘The End’ gives a well deserved solo to each member, making this final segment of this final song highly emotional, especially when the context is considered.
And, in the end…this was a fun experiment. For 37 days straight, I posted a song I had feelings for, or loved, and I had a lot of fun. See you…in the future!!!

John Lennon - Imagine
The greatest song ever made. The very mention of this song inspires works of greatness. John Lennon would be 70 today, performing this song at benefit concerts, revelling in his swarms of fans, old and new. What actually happened to John Lennon has transformed this song from an instant classic to an international anthem of world peace. Every note a triumph, every line a poem. Whenever I play this song at Kmart, people just stop, and listen. So, Imagine a world without John Lennon as we celebrate…Imagine.

The Velvet Set - Jump, Jive, and Wail
Coming soon to the Dramac Speakeasy Ball (tickets on sale now, cough cough), their 1930s style music is very catchy. So, plug plug plug and plug as we swing away to…Jump, Jive, and Wail!

The Lonely Island - Cool Guys Don’t Look At Explosions
Whilst not the best music video they’ve done, it earns extra marks from me for JJ Abrams cameo. So, MARK WAHLBERG IS WEARING A HAT as we enjoy…Cool Guys Don’t Look At Explosions!

Koji Kondo - The Legend of Zelda Medley
This orchestrated version of the Zelda theme is one I often use to prove how classic video game music has become in out modern media spectrum. The epic moments, the personal moments, and everything in between make this song something special. So, grab a sword, shield, and chicken as we enjoy…The Legend of Zelda Medley!

Simon Gallaher & Jon English - With Cat Like Tread
FOUR ENCORES!!! From the best version of Pirates of Penzance (the Australian one, of course…). It’s so powerful, I can’t stop watching clips from it on Youtube! And this is from someone who has seen it literally hundreds of times. Imagine how devestated I was when I found out they did a reunion…a year before I found out about it! Well, join me in hoping they do a 20th anniversary show, as we enjoy…With Cat Like Tread!

The Rolling Stones - Paint it Black
A song that makes Guitar Hero awesome. Oh, and of course, just generally good, as most Rolling Stones songs are anyway. So, without much more, please enjoy…Paint it Black!

Luciano Michelini - Frolic
The ultimate production music track, the theme to Curb Your Enthusiasm is fantastic. That is all. So, try to catch some sleep as we enjoy…Frolic!

David Bowie - Life on Mars
Like many people in my age bracket, I had no idea of what this song was, let alone how freakin’ awesome it is, until the television show Life on Mars. Basing a television show on the skeleton of our relationship between music and our minds is a genius concept, and the best possible artist chosen. The perfect blend of nonsense, epicness, and awesomeness, this song is endlessly a classic. So, spit in the eyes of fools as we enjoy…Life on Mars!
